Tree Streets Historic District
Gibson House. Ca. 1915
Located on a large corner lot at the northwest comer of Locust Avenue and Thirteenth Street, this property features an unusual fence with tapered poured concrete posts with pyramidal caps. The principal resource on the property is a two-story weatherboarded frame dwelling with a brick foundation and flues, a single-leaf entry door of paneled wood with a large glass pane, 1/1 double-hung wood sash, and a complex hip-and-gable roof covered with slate shingles. The facade features a one-story, four-bay porch with wood Tuscan columns (some of which are paired).Occupied in 1935 by Howard H. Gibson; 477a (perhaps an apartment in the house?) was occupied by James D. Hughes.
