One-and-a-half-story Colonial Revival single-family dwelling of stretcher-bond brick on a poured-concrete foundation, with an asphalt-shingled gable roof and an exterior end brick chimney. Other features include 6/6 double-hung wood windows with original operable shutters that have crescent-shaped cutouts in their upper panels, an elaborate door surround with a frieze, molded cornice, pilasters, and a single-leaf paneled wood door, two gabled dormers, and a north-side service entry with stoop. The house also has a rear porch and a rear shed dormer. A gravel driveway is located on the south side of the house, and a poured-concrete walk leads from the street to the front steps. Garrett came to Waynesborough from Charlottesville. The Redd family have red here for over half a century.
