Terms of use
Last updated October 11, 2026
By using Abodery you agree to these terms. If you share a memory or photo, the contributor terms apply too, and our privacy page explains what we collect.
History, not official records
Abodery is a history project. Building descriptions, dates and names come from National Register of Historic Places nominations, historic maps, aerial photographs, lidar surveys and neighbors’ memories, and some facts are our own reading of that evidence (we mark those as inferred). Any of it may be incomplete or wrong. It isn’t a survey, title, appraisal, zoning or historic-designation record, so don’t rely on it for legal, real estate, insurance or construction decisions; check with the City of Waynesboro, the Virginia Department of Historic Resources or a qualified professional.
Where things come from
Nomination text is from public records prepared for the Virginia Department of Historic Resources. Sanborn fire insurance maps are from the Library of Congress, Geography and Map Division. Topographic maps and lidar are from the U.S. Geological Survey. Aerial photographs are from the Virginia Base Mapping Program (VGIN). Street maps are © OpenStreetMap contributors. Building footprints are from the Virginia statewide building layer. Each page credits and links its sources. Memories and photos belong to the people who shared them.
Using the site
You’re welcome to read, link to and share Abodery’s pages. Please don’t copy contributors’ memories or photos elsewhere without their permission, overload the site with automated requests, or try to get around its sign-in or review.
