From the National Register nomination

This residence built in two distinct sections, east and west, with the east section being considerably larger. East side: Frame (board and batten); 2 stories; steep gable roof; 2 bays. West side: Frame (handmade clapboards); 2 stories; shallow gable roof; 2 bays. 1-story porch with square posts across both sections. Vernacular. Entrances in east bay of each section. 6/6 lights in both sections. Original endwall chimney now between both sections. The section on the west appears to be older than the other, but it is difficult to determine from available maps which section was built first. Other buildings in Staunton with handmade clapboards date from as early as 1790-1800.
