The 1939 two-story, cinder block Tudor Revival house sets on a cinder block foundation under a complex roof clad with the original asbestos shingles. The house was designed by Samuel Collins from the T.J. Collins firm in Staunton, Virginia as one of two cinder block houses in the City of Harrisonburg. The building has 2,170 square feet, which is consistent with scale and massing within the neighborhood. The façade of the building has a four-bay arrangement and is asymmetrical with an off-center to the east, recessed front door. The exterior is accented with typical Tudor Revival wood details in the front facing gable. The windows throughout are multi-paned with metal frames and hinges. The house follows setback from the street typical of the neighborhood. The fact that this high style Tudor Revival house is constructed entirely out of cinder blocks and still has an intact asbestos shingled roof adds to its significance within the district and sets it apart from other houses in the neighborhood.
